Linji Huguo Buddhist Temple | 臨濟護國禪寺
This is a beautiful Buddhist temple that was actually built by a Japanese monk in 1911, with traditional Japanese style architecture.
You have to take your shoes off the visit the Main Hall of the wooden temple. There is a traditional bell tower as well as hangings by the temple. The temple was actually built to promote Zen Buddhism in the country.
Around the area, you can visit other Buddhist temples. Climb up the stairs and you'll even see a Buddhist Monastery.
I never knew that there is so much to explore in Yuanshan. There's Baoan Temple 保安宮, Taipei Confucius Temple 台北孔廟, and you can even climb up Yuanshan 圓山 to see the view of Taipei 台北 among abandoned traditional courtyard houses 三合院.
The temple is right beside Yuanshan MRT Station 圓山捷運站. Walk 5 minutes from Exit 2 to arrive at your destination.
